Gloria Aurora Champion M. Ed, LPC-S
I have dedicated my life to the service of emotional and mental healthcare for almost four decades. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest grew into my undying passion for the mental health industry and I have built a career of excellence leading organizations, publishing articles, serving children and adults in English and Spanish. As a bilingual licensed professional counselor and psychotherapist, I am committed to the well-being of all my clients and go above and beyond to cater to their needs.
I truly care for all of my clients, and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek. Since 1977, I have worked on a variety of unique cases and individuals within the context of relationships and circumstances that are critical to their lives.

Every day is full of opportunities, both personal and professional, but the most important thing is knowing how to take advantage of every moment of our lives. I firmly believe that we all need to help each other in order to build a better world for the new generations. Here at Woodnote Counseling, I strive to always exceeded expectations, and to be a positive impact to other individuals lives.

I believe in a client-centered approach to therapy using empathy and active listening. By creating an open-minded and supportive environment, clients feel free to talk about conflicts that are not yet resolved. This approach allows the client to explore and determine what is needed to grow emotionally, and how to move forward in living a more fulfilling life. I support and encourage the client to listen to his or her own inner voice to rely on for strength and guidance.
I work with school-aged children, adolescents, adults, and families addressing relationships and personal mental-emotional health issues which affect daily functioning. It is rewarding for me to empower my clients and help them find solutions to living happier lives.

Patterns from the past can impact both present and future. But we all have the power to overcome our past and present obstacles in order to become the people we need to be— and deserve to be. I believe that the keys to good counseling are strong empathy, an open and curious mind, and collaboration between counselor and client. I am a practicum student but look forward to many years of listening and learning from clients.
